Melanie has been in the real estate and appraisal profession for over 30 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Kenyon College and has continued her education ever since. Melanie has earned the following professional designations: (GRI) Graduate REALTORS Institute; (CRS) Certified Residential Specialist; (CRB) Certified Residential Brokerage Manager; (ABR) Accredited Buyer’s Representative; GREEN designation; (ITI) Instructor Training Institute; (SRES) Seniors Real Estate Specialist; ePro designation; (RAA) Residential Accredited Appraiser; (RSPS) Resort and Second Property Specialist; and (CDEI) Certified Distance Education Instructor.
Melanie is a Pennsylvania licensed Associate Broker, Certified Residential Appraiser, and licensed Real Estate Instructor. She also is an Appraisal Qualifications Board Certified Uniform of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP) instructor.

She brings not only has years of field experience but has been an instructor for most of her real estate career. Among her credits, she has presented several times at the National Association of REALTORS® Annual Convention; the Triple Play Convention (New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania) and has been a GRI and other designation instructor for the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors for many years. She is nationally recognized and has taught various courses throughout the country.

Melanie has developed many real estate and appraisal courses. A few of the courses that she has developed include: “Appraising the Tough Ones”, “Economics and Appraising”, “Land Valuation”, “Green Building Trends”. She also developed the Core General Required Courses for New Licensees in Pennsylvania for the REALTORS Institute.

Melanie is a REALTOR® member of the National Association of REALTORS®, Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®, West Branch Valley Association of REALTORS®, and the Real Estate Educator’s Association. She has held various offices in each of these.

Awards and Honors are many for Melanie. She was named “Real Estate Instructor of the Year” in 1989 by Penn State University, “Woman of the Year” in 1982 by the Tiadaghton Junior Women’s Club, “Realtor of the Year” in 1994 by the West Branch Association of REALTORS, “Spirit Award” winner in 1999 by the West Branch Valley Association of REALTORS, “Outstanding Achievement Award” in 2004 by the West Branch Association of REALTORS, and “:REBAC Hall of Fame” 2004 as an instructor by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council.

Melanie is recognized as one of the leading real estate and appraisal instructors in the country. Agents and Appraisers ask for her when choosing courses. They recognize her knowledge and ability to communicate it.
